Hello, I'm Marc Ribera

Senior Frontend Developer

I build digital products that make complexity understandable.

As a Senior Frontend Developer, I develop interfaces and design digital product experiences.
I combine code, user experience and product thinking to turn complex needs into coherent, functional digital applications.

01 / Profile

Technology should be at the service of people.

I have dedicated 10 years of my life to Frontend, the part of software development where technology meets people. I work with a user-centred approach, where product and interface decisions lead to useful, intuitive solutions.

Education

I am an Industrial Technical Engineer by training. It taught me to understand systems, analyse problems and seek structured solutions, a way of thinking I still apply today. I shifted my professional career towards the digital field and completed a Postgraduate Degree in Web Development. I am currently continuing to broaden my technical profile with Google's UX/UI training and a Master's Degree in AI at Big School.

How I work

Before building a solution, I need to understand the problem we are solving. That is why the first step is understanding what users need and which decisions the product should enable.

Over time, I have learned that a good product does not depend on technology alone, but also on how the people building it organise and collaborate. I have worked as an Agile facilitator, helping create dynamics that bring order to the work, roles and decision-making.

In my professional and personal experience, the best results emerge when people work with trust, listening and cooperation. When you can contribute your knowledge, take part in decisions and are given the space to do so, work stops being a collection of tasks and becomes something created together.

02 / Experience

From building interfaces to a product vision centred on people.

My career has centred on Frontend and building complex digital products. I have worked on B2B software and SaaS platforms for multilateral organisations, governments and other entities, creating dashboards, analysis tools and custom data visualisations. I have applied AI and algorithms to Big Data to structure information and add new layers of value.

I have also acted as a technical liaison between external companies and internal teams, coordinating the development of components and new features. This evolution has led me to take on responsibilities in UX/UI, product, coordination and team facilitation.

  1. La Moncloa · Prime Minister’s Office

    Technical Adviser

    Madrid · 1 year and 7 months

The Prime Minister’s Office provides the Prime Minister of Spain with political and technical assistance and helps coordinate government action. As an adviser, I brought a technical perspective to the prototyping and refinement of new features and contributed to their development while taking responsibility for UX/UI design, as well as contributing to task organisation and team coordination.

It was an experience that demonstrated how technology can be applied in an institutional context with a clear focus on public service and social impact.

One of the most valuable lessons was the opportunity to meet and collaborate with brilliant professionals in their respective fields. Working with them and navigating a complex institutional environment broadened my perspective on how projects of this nature are defined, coordinated and delivered.

  2. Citibeats

Senior Frontend Developer · UX/UI · Scrum Master

    Barcelona · 5 years and 9 months

Citibeats is a social intelligence platform that uses AI and algorithms to transform large volumes of data (Big Data) into useful, actionable information to identify citizens’ concerns and propose solutions.

For nearly six years, I contributed to the technical definition and development of its digital products, particularly dashboards, data visualisations and data analysis tools, as well as reusable interfaces designed to support decision-making with social impact.

My responsibilities grew from Frontend development into UX/UI, product, Frontend coordination and Agile facilitation as a Scrum Master.

  3. The Social Coin

    Junior Frontend Developer

    Barcelona · 1 year and 7 months

The Social Coin was a purpose-driven startup with a web application designed to encourage kindness and facilitate chains of help and favours between people.

The Social Coin won the fifth NTT DATA Global Open Innovation Business Contest in March 2017.

As a Junior Frontend Developer, I worked on the AngularJS application and developed landing pages and internal websites to support the product and its communication.

  4. Three Feelings

    Web Developer

    Barcelona · 1 year and 6 months

Three Feelings is a Barcelona design studio where visual concepts also needed to be translated into digital experiences.

My work involved turning those designs into functional interfaces using HTML, CSS, PHP and WordPress while preserving the visual intent throughout the development process.

  5. Codi AV

    Audiovisual Technician · Interactive Systems

    Barcelona · 6 months

Codi AV created audiovisual solutions and interactive installations for museums, exhibitions and interpretation centres: experiences combining digital content, devices and physical space.

My work covered the programming, installation and configuration of these systems, connecting software, hardware, networks and controllers so that every element worked together.

Residual Gurus lighting system during the performance

Residual Gurus

Interactive lighting system for a night-time performance

  • Arduino
  • Electronics
  • Interaction
  • Light

Residual Gurus is a Barcelona street-music band that creates its instruments from recycled materials. For its night-time show For the Dark Times, it needed lighting that was integrated into the performance and responded to the musicians’ rhythm.

I developed the entire project: from designing the solution and selecting the components to programming with Arduino, assembling the electronics and physically building the system.

The result is an LED lighting system made up of four self-contained units—three for the instruments and one for the dancer. Piezoelectric sensors detect strikes and trigger lighting effects in real time, while each unit has its own battery, controls and connections for the LED strips.

  • Software
  • Electronics
  • Prototypes

Kronos is my personal space for developing and sharing applications, automations, games and prototypes related to software, electronics, music and interaction.

It began as an alternative to passive screen time: a way to spend my free time building ideas, experimenting with technologies and learning through real projects.

Each entry presents an idea turned into a functional project and documents the technologies, decisions and lessons behind its development.
